I’ve reached a suitable point in my renderer now - a point where I can use it. It needs a few things tweaked before I start to use it for my University projects (such as the lighting and sprites). I didn’t get around to shaders partly because there have been other demands on my time, but mostly because I realised that they wouldn’t be useful for me this year. My efforts were better spent on other things, such as finding a place to live and my final year project.

I have a small dilemma in that I may have a potential job opportunity, but I think that it’s a bit late for that now. I leave for my final year of University in exactly seven days time, so any job application process would need to be rushed. As you can well imagine, I doubt they would go out of their way to accomodate my strict time limit. I’m going to send in my CV and some portfolio work so that I am not rejecting the opportunity outright. Also, I can possibly obtain some feedback in the event that I am turned down.

My scripting design is proving interesting. I am really quite enjoying it so far. It will be interesting to see how far I can go with it while balancing my other assignments. The thing I worry about the most is juggling five projects at once and I am aware that I will need to strictly partition my time next year. I am mostly looking forward to a module called AGA (Advanced Graphical Algorithms) which covers raytracing and offline rendering techniques and I’m also looking forward to designing and implementing my scripting language. I just need to conjure some enthusiasm for the other modules!
